- What are the benefits of the UPLIFT V2 Desk Frame?
The UPLIFT V2 Standing Desk comes with loads of features, starting with its 48 pre-drilled mounting points for easy accessory installation. Quickly and easily add desk extensions or fun accessories. All hardware is hidden, which lets you maintain a clean look without extra details on your desk frame. Both of our UPLIFT V2 Frames also come with incorporated wire management via our wire management tray, which lets you store your cords with enough slack (and even a surge protector) at the rear of your desk, allowing you to plug in at a central location so you can adjust your desk without pulling cords. On both UPLIFT V2 Frame and UPLIFT V2 Commercial Frames you'll get smart features that make your desk safer than any others on the market: Anti-Collision technology and Keypad Lock. In addition, on the UPLIFT V2 Frame, you'll get a 24.5" - 50.1" height range, which is one of the widest height ranges available. Thanks to our unique design and stable leg orientation, our inverted legs are thicker at the top instead of the bottom, to offer increased stability without the need for a crossbar. The tightened tolerance between the telescoping stages of our three-stage frame further improves desk stability, letting you work at the highest heights without worry. Look underneath the UPLIFT V2 Frame and you'll see our stability brace, which we included to eliminate any side-to-side wobble.
Our UPLIFT V2 Commercial Frame comes with a 22.6" - 48.7" height adjustment range, making it ANSI/BIFMA G1-2013 compliant. Our designers included a stability crossbar to further stabilize the UPLIFT V2 Commercial Frame, which does not come with a stability brace. Larger legs feature a 35% larger cross-sectional area where the legs meet the desk foot, boosting desk stability even more. You'll get the same great features, too, like accessory mounting points, superior Anti-Collision Sensitivity and Keypad Lock, and included wire management on the UPLIFT V2 Commercial Frame. Our UPLIFT V2 Commercial Frame option is ideal for offices that comply with BIFMA standards of height and stability.
- What safety features come on the UPLIFT V2 Frame?
Get ready to enjoy two new safety features: Keypad Lock and Anti-Collision. Keypad Lock allows you to block access to your desk's keypad, which is perfect for protecting your desk in offices where children may be present. You'll also get a high-tech Anti-Collision feature that works by way of the desk's integrated accelerometer and 6-axis technology in its V4 control box. This technology stops your desk from colliding with objects in its path. If it ever does, your desk will stop and slightly reverse, which lets you remove the object in the way and get back to work.
- What desktop sizes can I use with the UPLIFT V2 Frame?
This UPLIFT V2 Frame is designed to be compatible with all UPLIFT Desk tops 42" through 80" wide. That includes our 120 degree desktop.
- Why should I choose the UPLIFT V2 Commercial Frame over the UPLIFT V2 Frame?
While our UPLIFT V2 Frame works well for just about everyone, some users prefer this commercial frame. The UPLIFT V2 Commercial Frame was designed with a slightly modified height range of 22.6" to 48.7" with a 1" desktop installed (2" lower than our standard desk) that works well for offices that choose to meet the ANSI/BIFMA G1-2013 height standard. Our UPLIFT V2 Commercial Frame also allows users to add casters to their desk while still achieving a low enough seated height for shorter or petite users. Others choose it because they appreciate the crossbar and the look of the larger lifting columns.
- Does the UPLIFT V2 Commercial Frame have the same features as your standard desk frame?
Absolutely! Although the upper and lower height limits are different (24.5" to 50.1" tall without desktop on the UPLIFT V2 Frame and 22.6" to 48.7" tall without desktop on this UPLIFT V2 Commercial Frame), both offer a similar height adjustment range of about 26". Both frames also include 48 patent-pending integrated accessory attachment points for easy attachment of both current and future accessories, a telescoping design that adjusts to fit tops from 42" to 80" wide, and a wire management tray that helps contain loose wires and can hold a surge protector outlet strip.
- What are ANSI/BIFMA G1-2013 and X5.5-2014 standards?
The Durability X5.5-2014 Standard ensures that both of our UPLIFT V2 Desks meet and exceed strict tests of desk loading, racking, leg strength, vertical adjustment, and cycle testing. In addition, our UPLIFT V2 Commercial Frame meets or exceeds the ANSI/BIFMA G1-2013 height requirement standards, meaning that it has a height range of 22.6" to 48.7" (with a 1" desktop installed), which accommodates a seated 5th percentile (5'0") to a standing 95th percentile (6'3"). This BIFMA standard is important for offices that wish to comply with this standard, and for users who are either very petite or very tall.
- Why does the UPLIFT V2 Commercial Frame have a crossbar?
Some desks that meet the reduced seated height requirement of the G1-2013 standard are not stable at their tallest standing height. This is due to the reduced overlap between the legs' three stages, a drawback to lowering the desk's minimum height while still attempting to maintain a wide height range. We added a solid steel crossbar to reduce side-to-side movement and redesigned legs with a 35% larger cross-sectional area than our standard legs to maximize the stability of this commercial-grade frame. Our crossbar also telescopes to fit desktops 42" to 80" wide, so you can swap tops if you ever need to.
Our UPLIFT V2 Frame does not include a crossbar. This is because the height range means that there is more overlap between the leg segments, and we designed it with a stability brace design in the legs and dual-integrated center rails that attach just beneath the desktop for additional hidden support. If you have any questions at all about which desk is right for you, please don't hesitate to contact us.
- What is a three-stage frame and why does UPLIFT Desk offer these?
We exclusively offer three-stage frames because we only want to offer the most advanced product to you, cutting no corners in any part of our process just to save a few dollars. While many desks use a two-stage leg, UPLIFT Desk frames are three-stage. Two-stage legs are made from two larger pieces that slide into each other, while three-stage legs are comprised of three smaller pieces. When making height adjustments, this allows a three-stage leg to achieve a lower seated height while also giving it an expanded height range. Our frame has a height range of 26.1" and an independent spindle assembly in each leg, which means they also raise and lower 33% faster than two-stage frames, because of this extra spindle.
- How do I know which control box version I have?
Just check the silver label on your control box. This has all the information you need to tell which version you have on your desk. If that sticker says v4.1, v4.2, or v4.3, you have the newest version of our control box, which comes with new features.
- What new features were added with the version 4 control boxes?
This frame includes upgraded safety features in the form of an integrated accelerometer and 6-axis technology in the control box. These provide more sensitive anti-collision detection than before. You can combine our advanced digital memory keypad with a version 4 control box to unlock even more new features. The Keypad Lock feature lets you lock the adjustment on your desk, so that other people can't raise or lower it - a benefit in home offices where children are around. And you'll be able to switch between One-Touch and Constant-Touch modes with the press of a few buttons, or change the LED display to inches or centimeters in a jiff.
- What are dual motors?
All 2-leg UPLIFT Desks are designed with dual motors, which means each leg has a motor inside. This makes our desks quieter, stronger, safer, and more stable than desks with a single motor.
- Can I assemble this desk by myself?
Building the frame and attaching it to the desktop can be done by one person. Depending on the size of your desk, you might need two people to lift the desk and place it upright after assembly. Wanna see how it's done? Watch Gene assemble his UPLIFT V2 Standing Desk in fewer than 7 minutes.
- What does "GREENGUARD-certified" mean?
GREENGUARD certification means that our tops have been tested rigorously by an independent third party laboratory, and have been shown to meet strict guidelines about chemical emissions such as formaldehyde, so they are safe for indoor use.
- Why isn't my whiteboard desktop erasing completely?
We have found that black dry erase markers tend to perform the best on these desktops. If any residue or ghosting is left behind after erasing the desktop, use Expo White Board Cleaner. If that doesn't remove all of the residue, try 70% isopropyl alcohol. You can also write over the unerased portion with another dry erase marker, let it dry, and then erase it.
- What is the difference between the bamboo you offer and the bamboo offered by other companies?
While most of our competitors offer a 3/4" thick bamboo desktop at a premium price, our bamboo desktops are not only more affordable, they're also more sturdy at a full 1" thick. The 1" thickness adds extra durability and resists sagging, even at larger desktop widths.
- Is the solid wood desktop the right choice for me?
If you are in the market for a one-of-a-kind natural desktop with asymmetrical lines, random grain patterns, spotty colors, knots, and other irregularities, then you will love our solid wood desktops. They reflect the untamed, pure habitat in which they grew, and their alleged imperfections are often what lead customers to buy them in the first place. However, if uniform lines, finish, pattern, and color are characteristics that match your style, you'll likely be happier with one of our great laminate desktops.
- Do you protect or seal your desktops?
Yes, we seal all of our desktops with high-quality European E1-level adhesives and a water-based protective coating that doesn't off-gas or emit VOCs.
- I don't live in the United States, will this desk work with my outlets?
All of our desks run on the US standard of 120 volts, so if you're going to use one of our desks outside the United States (excluding Canada), you'll need to use a step down transformer. Not using this transformer means that your desk's control box may overload, which is not covered by warranty.
