Introducing the UPLIFT V2 & UPLIFT V2-Commercial 4-Leg Standing Desk Frame

You may already own your ideal desktop and now you’re ready to make it height adjustable. You may be wondering whether you should use a 2-leg or 4-leg height adjustable frame. The UPLIFT V2 2-Leg Frame is a great choice for most users—but when you need even more lifting power, strength and stability, we recommend the UPLIFT V2 4-Leg Standing Desk Frame.

With 180 lb more lifting capacity than our 2-leg frame, which was named the Best Standing Desk by Wirecutter this 4-leg version is also a great choice for larger desktops (it's used on both of our bamboo Conference and Ping-Pong tables). The frame supports desktop widths ranging from 42" wide on up (so long as it's stable). Each of the frame's four inverted legs has a welded stability brace and a powerful motor, making for a very sturdy desk with 535 lb of lifting force. If you're looking for a height adjustable desk to help you stand and sit at the perfect heights for your body, look no further.

UPLIFT Desk - Raising the Standard in Standing Desks

UPLIFT Desks are engineered for world-class stability, safety, and reliability. They feature an impressive vertical travel range of over 25.5", fast height adjustment, one-touch operation, and individual drive motors in each leg. Both the UPLIFT V2 and UPLIFT V2-Commercial Frames are built with top of the line quality components and precision machining that is built to last. So the desk you invest in today works for you well into the future with our 10-Year warranty. Certifiably sturdy and strong; both frames meet the ANSI/BIFMA X5.5-2014 standard for durability and stability.

The combination of one-to-one motor to leg ratio and advanced collision sensors result in an industry leading anti-collision system. Unlike other desk brands, the UPLIFT Desk anti-collision feature works great as the desk moves up or down, and the sensitivity can be adjusted to account for usage differences.

A desk that raises quickly to a preset height with a touch of a button is a desk that you'll use more often to keep moving. Using a desk should be effortless and fun. UPLIFT Desks are equipped with 3-stage legs with a large vertical range to allow frequent sit-stand transitions throughout each day. UPLIFT Desks have a 33% greater height range and are 33% faster than competing desks. Less-capable 2-stage desks have a substantially limited vertical travel range and are considerably slower, which can impact comfort and productivity if the desk doesn't go low or high enough for the task at hand.

The patent-pending accessory mounting point system allows for quick and sturdy attachment of our exclusive desk accessories without the need to drill holes into your desktop. This mounting system adds sturdy modularity and ultimate customization capabilities to your dream workstation.

Both the UPLIFT V2 and UPLIFT V2-Commercial Desks have been awarded top ratings as the "Best Standing Desk" by Wirecutter in 2019-2020 and in 2020-2021. UPLIFT Desk has also been rated #1 by TechRadar, 9to5Mac, Lifehacker, Business Insider, Entrepreneur, Wired, and many others.

We stand firmly behind the quality of our products. Desks and most accessories come with a 10 Year warranty, desktops have a 5 Year warranty.

Which Frame Type is Right for Me?

The UPLIFT V2 and V2-Commercial desks are equally stable. The V2-Commercial desk has a height range that starts at about 3" lower than the V2 and conforms to the ANSI/BIFMA G1-2013 height standard. The key difference between the two is the height range as listed below:

  • The V2 Desk has a height range of 25.5”-51.1” with a 1” desktop. That’s a 25.6” travel distance. This desk is ideal for users 5'4" to 6'7" tall. Adding a keyboard tray allows the V2 desk to accommodate a 4'10" user.
  • The V2-Commercial Desk has a height range of 22.6”- 48.7” with a 1” desktop. That’s a 26.1” travel distance with a lowest height that's about 3" lower than the V2 desk. This desk is ideal for users 5'0" to 6'3" tall. Adding a keyboard tray allows the V2-Commercial desk to accommodate a 4'6" user
  • Adding casters raises the desk and is a good way to accommodate very tall users. Keep in mind that using an UPLIFT Rocker-X board adds 2.5" to your standing height

The UPLIFT V2 Desk has stability braces at the top of each leg for maximizing stability without the need for a lower crossbar between the legs. To provide the space needed for the stability braces, the leg orientation is inverted with the larger telescoping tube section at the top. These angular stability braces eliminate side-to-side wobble and replace the need for a lower crossbar.

For the V2-Commercial Desk to achieve a 3" lower starting height with a larger overall height adjustment range, the three telescoping leg sections were designed to be shorter and travel farther. Because of this, the telescoping leg stages overlap each other less than they do on the V2 desk legs. To compensate for less overlap, the V2-Commercial desk has thicker legs connected by a lower crossbar. The end result is best-in-class stoutness that matches the award-winning stability of the V2 desk.

The V2-Commercial Desk was developed to optimally accommodate users under 5'4" tall. It meets the ANSI/BIFMA G1-2013 height standard to accommodate users who are 5'0" to 6'3" tall (5th percentile female seated height to 95th percentile male standing height). With the lower starting height, the V2-Commercial Desk also better accommodates children. Adding a keyboard tray allows the V2 desk to accommodate a 4'10" or taller user, and allows the V2-Commercial desk to accommodate a 4'6" or taller user.

We recommend the use of a keyboard tray with either desk to position the keyboard and mouse so your wrists are perfectly straight and the keyboard tray height is perfectly positioned either lower or higher than your desktop height. The optimal position for your keyboard and mouse is to have your upper arms hanging comfortably at your sides, with elbows at about 90 degrees, and wrists perfectly straight while typing and mousing. This will usually place the keyboard tray just above your lap. UPLIFT keyboard trays have 8" of height adjustment and move vertically from 5" below to 3" above the underside of the desktop (without a 2.8" thick track spacer). Adding a keyboard tray allows the V2 desk to accommodate a 4'10" or taller user, and allows the V2-Commercial desk to accommodate a 4'6" or taller user.

Tap Into Your Desk's Full Potential

The Basic Keypad is an entry-level keypad with no advanced features. It has up and down buttons for height adjustment. To change the desk height, press and hold a button until the desk reaches the desired height.

The Advanced Keypad adds these features:

  • One touch movement (optional) - Tap a button to transition between sitting and standing height, without holding the button down. Lets you reposition your chair and get ready to stand while the desk moves.
  • Child Safety Lock - Prevent the desk from moving until deactivated
  • Min & Max Height Settings - Prevent your desktop from impacting shelves above or cabinets below
  • Auto-Dark Display - LED display will go dark 10 seconds after use
  • Desk Height Calibration - Calibrate the displayed height to account for the addition of casters
  • Anti-Collision Sensitivity Adjustments - Dial in the anti-collision system to be exactly where you need it

The Advanced Comfort Keypad includes the Advanced Keypad features and adds an angled face for easier viewing, raised dividers between buttons for no-look operation, and a satisfying, rubberized, soft-touch feel.

The Advanced Paddle Keypad includes the Advanced Keypad features and adds intuitive desk adjustment with no need to look at the keypad. Double-tap the paddle and the desk moves automatically to a preset height. A programmable standing reminder feature notifies you when it's time to stand.

Power and charging accessories are available for your desk

Feeling Powerful Yet?

Once you install your desktop on the 4-leg frame, you'll have a height adjustable workstation that can move over 2 feet from low to high. This means you'll need a power solution that moves with you—or at least provides enough slack to keep your computer from coming unplugged when you height adjust.

Implement a Wire Management Plan

Managing the cables that run across and under your desktop isn't necessarily an exciting topic of discussion—but it's something you don't want to overlook. Now that you're at a standing desk, the cables that hang down may become more apparent. Not only that, but those cables could possibly snag on something as you adjust the height of your desktop.

We have many different cable management solutions to help you route and hide away what could otherwise be a tangle of wires, preventing snagging and providing a clean look to your workspace. Your UPLIFT V2 4-Leg Frame even comes with a wire management tray, to help you get started.

Complementary Space Planning

Frequently Asked Questions

Click here for FAQs for our UPLIFT V2 Frame and UPLIFT V2-Commercial Frame.

  1. What are the new features of the v4 control box?

When it comes to safety, collision sensitivity is number one. The new control box has better sensitivity to tell when the desk bumps into something during height adjustment—and if it does, the desk stops and reverses slightly. There's also a keypad child lock, which you can set to keep little hands from playing with the buttons when you're not around.

The new control box can also toggle between one-touch and constant-touch modes, allowing you to set your preference with just a few buttons. And whether you're a standard or metric type of person, your keypad can display the desk's height using the "proper" units (inches or centimeters).

  2. Is the 4-leg frame as quiet as the 2-leg frame?

It certainly is—both frames produce 50 db when adjusting their heights!

  3. Why are three-stage frames better than two-stage frames?

That has to do with the three spindles we have in each of our frame legs—versus the standard two you'll find on cheaper height adjustable frames. Because we add a spindle, it makes our desks 33% quicker to adjust! Also, our three-stage frames offer you a higher range of height adjustability, so they suit a wider group of people, from the petite to the very tall—and even kids!

If you plan on adding a treadmill to your standing workstation down the line, a three-stage frame will give you the extra boost you need to raise your desk high enough to use it.

  4. Will two people be able to move the 4-leg frame?

The 4-leg frame is quite substantial, so this really depends on how heavy your desktop is. More than two people might be necessary to move a large conference table. Be sure to include casters on your frame if you plan on moving the desk often.

  5. Can I use the 4-leg frame with a circular top?

Certainly! The 4-leg frame is great for unique desktop shapes, including circles and ovals. Just make sure to evenly distribute the weight across all four legs—and choose a substantially solid desktop.

  6. How can I tell which control box I have?

You can quickly check to see which version of the control box you have by glancing at the silver label on it. If it says v4.1, v4.2, or v4.3, you know you have the newest version of our control box, which includes several new features!

  7. What is the ANSI/BIFMA X5.5-2014 Durability Standard?

The X5.5-2014 standard ensures that both of our UPLIFT V2 4-Leg Standing Desk Frames meet and exceed strict tests of desk loading, racking, leg strength, vertical adjustment, and cycle testing.

  8. Why doesn't the frame work if I remove one of the legs?

Each control box is specific to the number of legs on the frame (2, 3, or 4). Therefore, if you remove one of the legs, the entire frame will not work.

  9. What is the benefit of a 4-leg frame over a 2-leg frame?

The 4-leg frame is inherently more stable, based on the principles of physics. It also has a larger carrying capacity, which comes in handy if you are using your desk to carry something substantial, like a large quilting machine or a turntable.

  10. Why does this frame have a motor in each leg?

All UPLIFT Desk frames boast a motor in each leg so that you can rest assured that your desk is the safest, quietest, strongest, and most reliable desk you can buy. Most electric sit-stand desks on the market only have a single motor.

  11. Are there any restrictions to the kinds of tops that I can attach to this frame?

You can install very wide desktops with this frame, so long as they are stable and don't exceed the weight capacity of 535 lb. The frame needs a 42" desktop, at minimum. Please note that 42" and 48" desktops cannot have grommets, since the frame interacts with the desktop at the grommet placements for those widths.

  12. Can I use a glass desktop?

Yes, you can use a glass desktop, but you will need to mount it to a piece of wood or other material first—and that material should be thick enough to hold the wood screws (included) used to mount your desktop to the frame.

  13. If I live outside of the United States, will this frame work with my outlets and voltage?

All control boxes by UPLIFT Desk are designed to run on the US electricity standard of 120V. If you are ordering an UPLIFT Desk frame from outside the United States (other than Canada), you'll need to plug it into a step-down transformer first. If you don't use a transformer, you run the risk of overloading your frame's control box, which is not covered by warranty. If you have any questions at all regarding how your country's voltage works with this frame, call, email, or chat us here on our site.

  14. Is the track spacer compatible with the 4-leg standing desk?

Yes, however the cubby that is included with the track spacer is not compatible. You would just need to remove the plastic cubby from the Track Spacer bracket to avoid interference with the front crossbars.

  15. What leg cable lengths does the frame ship with?

The 4-leg frame ships with two 4.3' (1.3 meters) cables and two 8.2' (2.5 meters) cables.
