    Solid Wood Standing Desk

We've already caught your eye with this one-of-a-kind solid wood desktop. Now just imagine how you will feel working on that show-stopper every day. With 11 different woods to choose from and sizes customizable down to a quarter of an inch, the solid top combined with our sturdy frame brings the executive touch you are looking for, with the added health benefits of standing while you work.

And when you buy a solid wood desktop, you can feel good knowing that we'll plant five trees in U.S. National Forests through our partnership with the National Forest Foundation.

    Support from the Ground Up

A solid wood top needs supportive legs. Our desk's foot is made with 100 percent aluminum, which is lightweight yet strong for ample support. It is also fully recyclable, a perfect complement to your natural, solid wood desktop. Even with uneven floors, the UPLIFT base will provide stable support thanks to leveling glides on the feet. Add casters if you would like a desk that is as mobile as you are.

Choose from three colors, all powder-coated and treated with a non-toxic finish so you can breathe easier.

A trio of three-stage desk feet in white, gray, and black finishes.
A power grommet on a sit-stand UPLIFT desktop charges a cell phone within users' Neutral Reach Zones.

    Power to the Grommet

Having power close by is especially important with today's plethora of mobile devices. Optional power grommets integrate seamlessly into your desk and come with a long, grounded power cord.

Just need space for some wires? Choose a wire grommet instead of a power grommet.

    The Advanced Keypad

A cutting edge desk deserves an advanced keypad, which displays the current height of the desk in inches. It can also store up to four height preferences so you can even share your workspace with coworkers without losing your perfect desk height.

UPLIFT Desk's Advanced 1-Touch Digital Keypad shows users' preferred heights in inches on a digital display.

Note: Wood Desktops and Dry Climates

If the air in your area is especially dry, your wood desktop could be at increased risk of cracking and splitting. Wood naturally expands and contracts depending on the amount of moisture in the environment, and without enough humidity, the moisture in your desk can evaporate, leaving it vulnerable to warping.

It's a completely natural process, but it's unfortunately something that could affect your new wood desktop. If your desktop does crack or split, we're happy to send you a repair kit to fill the affected areas. If potentially repairing your wood desktop isn't something you're comfortable with, we recommend that you take a look at our Bamboo, Eco, or Laminate desktops instead.

If your desktop has already warped, please click here for instructions on using our solid wood desktop repair kit.

Please contact us if you have additional questions.

    Weight and Proper Use:

    • Weight capacity for UPLIFT frames assumes that weight is evenly distributed across the desktop.
    • Improper weight distribution may damage the actuators, create a tipping hazard and void the warranty.
    • Install the crossbar center rails to enhance stability and prevent bowing.
    • Do not drag the desk, this may rack the legs.
    • Not a toy: do not let children play on or around the desk.
    • Please observe all instructions and notices in the provided user guide.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    1. What is the difference between the 1.5" thick Solid Wood Bamboo and your other 1" thick bamboo?

Besides just giving you an extra 0.5" of thickness, the standard bamboo top is a UV-cured bamboo that we stock in our warehouse. It comes with or without a center cut-out and will ship out in 1-2 business days. The Premium Bamboo is made from fully matured Moso bamboo. This denser bamboo features a beautiful vertical grain. Each desktop is custom-made when you order and will ship out in 12-14 weeks.

    2. Can I order a custom size?

Absolutely! Each Solid Wood Desktop is made after you place your order, which means it can be made to your exact liking! Changing the sizes won't increase the lead time, either. Contact our customer service team for a quote.

    3. Why is the lead time so long? Can I get my desk any faster?

Think of your custom solid wood desk like a fine bottle of wine that takes time to make. Each desktop is custom-made by our local woodworkers after you place your order. A solid wood desktop can't be constructed in just a day; it takes time to cure and finish the desktop. I know it is hard to be patient, but this desktop is worth the wait!

    4. I really don't want to wait but I also don't want to compromise on getting a solid wood desk, are there any other options?

We do carry quick ship solid wood desks. These desktops have been crafted by the same local woodworkers, and are ready and waiting in the warehouse. That means we can get them to you quickly! You will just have to choose from the limited sizes and species we have available.

    5. Can I get this with the ergo edge?

An ergo edge is unavailable with the solid wood desktops.

    6. How durable is solid wood?

At 1.75" thick, these desktops are beasts. Solid wood is a very durable surface and will harden with time. However, the surface may scratch or get dull if you don't maintain it. If you live in a very dry climate, you will need to keep your desk hydrated with lemon oil. Otherwise the wood may dry out and crack.

    7. How should I care for my desktop?

We have combined all of the care items needed to maintain your solid wood desktop in one easy kit. You will want to clean the surface of your desktop with lemon oil. The oil also helps keep the wood properly hydrated. Use the oil with furniture cloths to help polish the surface. If scratches do occur, you can gently buff them out with the steel wool pad.

    8. Is there any extra fee to get the desks faster?

Unfortunately, no. Each desk is handcrafted and the entire process takes a while. Check out the "quick ship" solid wood desks, which are from canceled orders, to see if anything suites your needs.

    9. I just received my desk and the color of the wood looks a little off, are you sure it is the wood that I ordered?

Although we are not immune to errors, your freshly harvested desktop may look a little different than a mature desktop. Different species will be either a little lighter or darker than their aged counterparts. Over time the color will eventually even out.

    10. Can I expect to get my desk in the lead time specified?

Right now, solid wood desks take 12-14 weeks to be fashioned before they are shipped out. With about one week in transit time you can expect to receive your order in three and a half months.

    11. What is a "barkline?"

Cedar and mesquite desktops are available with a barkline, or "live edge." This natural edge follows the curve of the wood and provides a unique, rustic look.

    12. How can I feel good about chopping down an innocent tree for my custom desktop?

We have partnered with the National Forest Foundation to plant five trees in U.S. National Forests when you buy a solid wood desktop. You can rest a little easier at night knowing that the new trees will help beautify our national parks.

    13. Will the surface be smooth?

Natural wood is, well, natural and may contain some bug holes, knots, and imperfections. Our woodworker smooths these out by adding either black or clear filler to smooth out the surface of the desk.

    14. Does the weight capacity include the weight of the desktop?

The load bearing capacity of the frame does not include the desktop. Since each desktop is a different size, we have included the desktop weight in pounds per square foot for each species so that you will be able to calculate the weight capacity for your custom desktop. Say you get a 72" x 24" desktop in Pecan, your desktop will weigh 111.6 lbs. That still leaves you with 243.4 lbs of additional accessories that you can evenly disperse across your desk!

    15. Will this desk work well with a treadmill?

If you want to put a treadmill under your solid wood desk, just make sure you order a large enough desk to comfortable fit a treadmill on one side and a chair on the other. You will also want to order a monitor arm so that you can easily swing your monitor back and forth between your treadmill and your chair.

    16. What is the deal with three-stage frames?

UPLIFT Desk frames are three-stage vs the cheaper two-stage desks you can find today. This means our desks are 33% faster because our legs have 3 spindles instead of 2. This gives users a larger range of adjustability, so desks fit shorter users and kids, all the way up to tall users or people who plan on adding a treadmill to their workstations later.

    17. Does the weight of the solid wood desktop affect how smoothly the desk operates?

The motors in our UPLIFT frame can easily handle the weight of our solid wood desktop. The smooth motion of the frame will not be compromised. Be sure to add the advanced keypad so that you can get the benefit of one-touch height adjustment with four saved heights.

    18. Will I be able to assemble my desk by myself?

You will be able to assemble the frame of your desk by yourself, as well as attach it to the desktop. However, based on the size of your desktop, you will probably need help safely laying the desktop on the floor. It is definitely a two person job to set your desk right-side up after you assemble your desk.

I got the Walnut solid wood desk, 30 x 60. The desk top is so think and the surface is perfect. Adjusting the height to the memory settings is quick and very quiet. I got the computer mounting hardware and have my pc hanging to the side. I also got the spacers to mount the keyboard track lower, so my monitors set at about eye level. I love this desk and would buy it again, but waiting over 3 months for it was so painful.

This desk will literally save my life

Posted by Adele on Feb 10th 2017

I work from home and would go from my bedroom to the next room where my office is set up and sit there all day and most of the evening.

My back hurt, my butt hurt, my legs hurt, and I would get tired just walking across the room.

I needed a desk that would support two computers and 3 large monitors. It needed to allow me to sit or stand - I have room for two desks, but moving the equipment from one to another would be impossible.

What I love about it -
      1. The height is so easy to adjust - the 4 settings that I can program meet all of my needs - whether I am standing, walking on the treadmill, or sitting.

      2. I have plenty of space for what most would perceive as a lot of equipment. 3 monitors, 2 computers, 2 mice, one keyboard, the treadmill console, room for writing, and of course my Diet Coke, which also helps me get through the day

      3. The desktop is beautiful and heavy duty. I chose the cherry wood. It is at least two inches thick and weighs a ton, but it will stand the test of time for sure.

      4. I am moving! Not fast, but it is nothing to walk 3 miles in a day without even thinking about it. I feel so much better, and when I do get to leave, I don't feel like I need to just head for the couch to lay down. It is easy to walk and work, and quiet enough, if I keep it around 2mph that I can attend conference calls and walk, as well.

Why only 4 stars? I miss my drawers a lot. I have been purging like crazy, which is a good thing, but there are some things that you would just like to be handy.

Also, the treadmill isn't easy to move. I have put it on sliders so it will slide to the side easily, but it would be nice if it was designed to maybe store on its side so you could move freely anywhere, whether standing, or sitting, but even when I have it off to the corner, I can't slide my chair to sit squarely in front of my second computer.

Also the cords - they are everywhere. I ended up installing a power strip under the desk, this would be a nice feature for it to come with.

Still I am thrilled with my purchase - it was worth every penny and I wish I had bought it years ago.

      Awesome desk

Posted by Julia P. on Dec 1st 2016

This is my second stand-up desk and this one really fits the bill. I had a crank desk that was great but it just wasn't big enough for a work computer and a personal computer set-up. The design of this desk is perfect and the automatic settings with electric lift is great. I investigated sit/stand desk options after chronic hamstring injuries made sitting down all day impossible. In addition to helping that, the general soreness in my neck and shoulders went away too. Can't say enough good things - dimensions and design are perfect - no obstructions underneath the desk - and cord and electrical management all brilliantly contemplated.

I've done a TON of research and this is by far the best option on the market for a versatile sit/stand desk at an affordable price. Worth every penny!

Best Gift I Ever Gave Myself

Posted by Steve Cunningham on Oct 27th 2016

I've had my Uplift desk for six months, and am still just as happy with it as ever. The bamboo top is gorgeous and tough -- I've dropped stuff with zero damage. The mechanicals are equally durable and quiet enough that my partner records speech in the next room without hearing it. But here's the best part -- I get through an entire day of writing code at the desk without the back pain I've dealt with from years of sitting (I'm in my mid-60s). The UpLift Desk is the best gift I've ever given myself. Why didn't I get this sooner?

      Love the desks!

Posted by Josh on Dec 30th 2015

Love the desks! The wood tops are beautiful and everything mechanically works well. We are happy with how stable the bases and legs are given the heaviness of the solid wood on top.

      uplift desk is awesome

Posted by Nicholas Zagaroli on Jun 12th 2015

I bought two of these desks one with a solid wood top and the other with the Mahogany top and cannot say enough good things about the desk or the customer services. I messed up the order on both desks, thankfully they caught the mistake in time for customer service to correct them. I had ordered one of the desk with a bamboo top which I didn't read when I ordered it that it had a longer lead time. Thankfully customer service came to the rescue again found a solid hardwood top (mesquite) in-stock all was fine. Delivery was quick as advertised, the quality and workmanship are as advertised as well. We assembled them ourselves without a hitch, instructions where easy to follow. I had read the articles on sitting and standing I've always had the traditional disk, thought I would give the standing desk a shot; but thought in impractical that I would stand all the time. In my work I spend 80% of time on the keyboard and sometimes that can mean 10-12 hours in front of the computer. After a month with my UpLift desk I can tell you that I spend about half my time standing, but the truly nice thing about this desk is that I can have it at whatever height I feel like it, and it turns out that I like to have it at six different height throughout the day. After living with the desk, I find myself standing more and more throughout the day. Bottom line: 1. Well worth every penny. 2. Looks great, especially the Mesquite top. 3. Best of all I feel better after a long days work.

      Will buy again

Posted by Andy on Jun 1st 2015

Completely satisfied with the desk. More impressive was the buying process, knowledge of the sales and support staff, and attention to detail. It's clear that this company is on a mission to help people. They have found a way to differentiate themselves in a crowded market and stand out as a great company which deserves all the success it achieves. We will be adding a second UpLift 900 in the near future. Thank you!

Fantastic. The wood top and finish is incredible. Very thick, very smooth/straight. HIGH craftsmanship. Assembly was straight forward.
