- What are the benefits of the UPLIFT V2 Desk Frame?
The UPLIFT V2 Standing Desk comes with loads of features, starting with its 48 integrated and patent pending mounting points for easy accessory installation. Use the mounting points to quickly add a desk extension, hammock, or other accessories to your desk. Both our UPLIFT V2 and V2-Commercial Frames come with an-under-desk wire management tray. The wire tray allows you to store cords and a surge protector and it can be located in a central location so you can adjust the desk height without pulling cords. Both UPLIFT V2 and UPLIFT V2-Commercial Frames offer smart features that make your desk safer than others on the market. These features include advanced and effective anti-collision technology and a keypad lock for child protection. In addition, the UPLIFT V2 desk with 1" desktop provides a 25.3" - 50.9" height range, which is one of the widest height ranges available. After all, you're buying a standing desk for the height adjustability.
An exceptionally tight tolerance between the telescoping tubes of our three-stage frame legs improves desk stability, allowing you to work at the highest heights without wobble. And at the top of our UPLIFT V2 Frame legs you will see welded stability braces which were designed to further eliminate any side-to-side desk movement.
Our UPLIFT V2-Commercial Frame provides an incredible 22.6" - 48.7" height adjustment range with a 1" desktop attached making it compliant with ANSI/BIFMA G1-2013 height standards. To replace the welded stability braces on the V2 Frame, our designers included a telescoping lower crossbar between the legs of the V2-Commercial Frame to further stabilize it and also increased the cross-sectional area of the legs by 33%. Our UPLIFT V2-Commercial Frame is the right choice for offices that want the ideal height adjustability range for the most people.
- What safety features come on the UPLIFT V2 Frame?
Child Lock and Anti-Collision. The Keypad Lock feature blocks the functionality of the keypad, which is perfect for preventing injury in spaces where children may be present. The Anti-Collision feature, which includes an integrated accelerometer and 6-axis technology in the control box, stops your desk from moving if it collides with objects while rising or lowering.
- What desktop sizes can I use with the UPLIFT V2 Frame?
This UPLIFT V2 Frame is designed to be compatible with all UPLIFT desktops between 42" and 80" wide.
- Why should I choose the UPLIFT V2-Commercial Frame over the UPLIFT V2 Frame?
Click here for a pdf showing a detailed look at the differences between the UPLIFT V2 Frame and the UPLIFT V2-Commercial Frame.
While our UPLIFT V2 Frame works well for most users, some people prefer the UPLIFT V2-Commercial Frame for its wider height range of 22.6" - 48.7" with a 1" desktop installed. The V2-Commercial Frame lowers 2.7" further than the V2 Frame and therefore works well in offices that choose to meet the ANSI/BIFMA G1-2013 height standard. Meeting this standard ensures that the desk will accommodate 95% of user heights. Even with casters installed, our UPLIFT V2-Commercial Frame achieves a seated height that is low enough for shorter users. Others choose it simply because they prefer the aesthetics of the lower crossbar and the larger legs.
- Does the UPLIFT V2-Commercial Frame have the same features as your standard desk frame?
Absolutely! Click here for a more detailed look at the UPLIFT V2 Frame and the UPLIFT V2-Commercial Frame. Although the upper and lower height limits are slightly different, both offer a similar height adjustment range of about 26". Both frames also include 48 patent-pending integrated accessory attachment points for easy attachment of current and future accessories, a telescoping design that accommodates desktops between 42" and 80" wide, and an included wire management tray that helps conceal cables and a surge protector.
- What are ANSI/BIFMA G1-2013 and X5.5-2014 standards?
The X5.5-2014 Durability Standard ensures that both of our UPLIFT V2 Frames meet or exceed strict tests of desk loading, racking, leg strength, vertical adjustment, and cycle testing.
The UPLIFT V2-Commercial Frame supports ergonomic working postures for the majority of the population in both seated and standing positions. This means it meets the ANSI/BIFMA G1-2013 standing desk height requirements due to its height range of 22.6" - 48.7" with a 1" desktop installed. Meeting the ANSI/BIFMA G1-2013 standard means the frame accommodates a seated 5th percentile female height (5'0") to a standing 95th percentile male height (6'3"). This is important for offices that wish to comply with the BIFMA standard, and for shorter users. Alternatively, the V2 Frame accommodates taller people (over 6'4") better than the V2-Commercial Frame.
- Why does the UPLIFT V2-Commercial Frame have a crossbar?
Typically, desk frames that meet the extended height range requirement of the ANSI/BIFMA G1-2013 standard are not as stable at their maximum height and tend to wobble. This is due to the reduced overlap between the legs' telescoping tubes. To remedy this issue, we added a steel telescoping crossbar between the frame legs to reduce side-to-side movement. In addition, we increased the cross-sectional area of the V2-Commercial Frame legs by 33% which further increases frame stability. Both the frame and the lower crossbar adjust in width to fit desktops from 42" to 80" wide.
Our UPLIFT V2 Frame does not require a lower crossbar for stability because we designed it with a stability brace at the top of each of the legs.
Both frames include dual crossbar rails integrated just beneath the desktop for additional, hidden support. If you have any questions at all about which desk is right for you, please don't hesitate to contact us.
- Two stage vs three stage frames. What is a three-stage standing desk frame and why does UPLIFT Desk offer these? What is a two-stage frame?
While some standing desk frame manufacturers offer frames with two-stage legs in an effort to reduce cost, UPLIFT Desk only offers frames with three-stage legs. This is because two-stage legs do not have sufficient height range, speed, or stability for our customers. Two-stage legs are made from two telescoping tubes that slide into each other, while three-stage legs are composed of three telescoping tubes that slide into each other. When making height adjustments, this allows three-stage legs to achieve a lower seated height while also giving it an expanded height range for a higher max height. So we achieve a 26.1" height range and raise/lower 33% faster than two-stage frames.
- How do I know which control box version I have?
Just check the silver label on the end of your control box. This has all the information you need to tell which version you have on your desk. If the sticker has a number that includes a version of v4 or higher you'll know you have a newer control box that unlocks all of the desk's amazing features.
- What new features were added with the version 4 and higher control box revisions?
Version 4 control boxes and higher have upgraded safety features including the integrated accelerometer and 6-axis technology. This feature improves the sensitivity of the anti-collision detection, stopping the desk even quicker if it collides with anything during movement. Combined with our Advanced Keypads, version 4 and higher control boxes add even more features. The keypad lock feature blocks the function of the keypad, so that other people can't access it - this is a safety benefit in home offices where children are present. Additionally, you'll be able to switch between One-Touch and Constant-Touch desk movement modes or change the LED display between inches or centimeters. You can also set max and minimum desk height limits to prevent your desk from running into fixed objects like shelves or file cabinets.
- What are dual motors?
All 2-leg UPLIFT Desks are designed with dual motors, which means each leg has a motor inside. This makes our desks quieter, stronger, safer, and more stable than desks with a single motor that operates both legs.
- Can I assemble this desk by myself?
Of course! Assembling a V2 or V2-Commercial Desk can be done by one person, but depending on the size and weight of your desktop, you may need a friend to help you flip the desk upright and move it to your desired location after assembly. If you'd like to see how it's done, watch Gene assemble an UPLIFT Desk in 7 minutes. Also see our assembly page that shows how to assemble each desk.
- What are some tips to if I'm having trouble erasing the whiteboard completely?
First and foremost, be sure you are using ONLY dry erase markers or your notes and artwork may become permanent records! All whiteboard surfaces require some extra cleaning from time to time due to build up of the dry erase markers. If any residue or ghosting is left behind after erasing the desktop with your dry erase marker, use a clean cloth or paper towel with a mixture of water and a little dish soap or some Expo White Board Cleaner. If these don't remove the residue, try a paper towel with some 70% isopropyl alcohol. DO NOT use Lysol wipes or Mr. Clean Magic Eraser as these products can permanently damage your whiteboard desktop surface.
- I don't live in the United States, will this desk work with my outlets?
All UPLIFT Desks operate on an input voltage of 120 Vac. If you are located in an area that does not provide 120V, you MUST use an acceptable step down transformer to be covered by the desk's warranty. Neglecting to use a proper step down transformer or connecting to a power source that is not 120V will cause permanent damage to the desk's electrical components. It is not sufficient to simply use a 120V plug adapter.
