Sustainable office solutions for health, wellness, and a better tomorrow
Our desks do more than stand the test of time; they grow forests. We plant five new trees in U.S. National Forests for every solid wood desktop sold. By partnering with the National Forest Foundation, we're able to plant thousands of new trees each year.
As of April 2024, we have planted over 330,000 trees with this program.
Planting trees helps offset our own environmental impact and ensure the resources we enjoy today will continue to be available for future generations. Wood is one of the best and most sustainable materials to use. It's an effective way to not only trap carbon, but repurpose it, too!
The world's fastest-growing plant, Moso bamboo, produces one of the most popular desktop choices. Its rapid growth rate and strong constitution make it one of the most durable and sustainable choices for a desktop material.
Growing up to an inch per hour, bamboo quickly sprouts from its roots after being cut, avoiding soil erosion and the need for replanting. It uses significantly less water than traditional crops or trees, offering a sustainable and drought-tolerant solution.
Used for millions of products around the globe, Pará rubber trees produce 99% of the world's natural rubber latex. The rubber production lifespan of these trees is about 25 to 30 years, after which they're considered spent and disposed of.
The tough, solid wood—nothing like rubber—is given a second life as lumber for a wide variety of uses.
The result is a beautiful, durable desktop that utilizes a byproduct material that would otherwise be wasted.
All of our Austin operations are powered by the sun, down to the electric forklifts in our warehouses. We provide 12 electric vehicle charging stations—free—for UPLIFT Desk employees and enjoy the benefits of driving cars powered by the sun.
These facilities produce over a megawatt of electricity through roof-mounted solar panels. In fact, we produce more electricity than we consume, and the city sells our excess power to other electric company customers.
We invested in solar to offset our environmental impact. We even spelled our name atop our largest warehouse at 1848 Ferguson Ln, Austin, TX. (Check it out on Google Maps satellite view.) By using a renewable energy source like the sun, we all get environmental returns over time.
