Our Donation to the Center for Child Protection
For more than 30 years, the Center for Child Protection has been the first place Travis County turns when a child has been hurt. Forensic interviews, therapy, and medical care, all trauma-informed and offered free of charge. The people who do this work meet children at their hardest moments and help them find the way forward.
Who the Center for Child Protection serves
The Center for Child Protection is a nationally accredited children's advocacy center and the only nonprofit in Travis County involved in the investigation and prosecution of crimes against children. Everything happens under one roof by design, so a child meets a coordinated team instead of being sent from one agency to the next.
The mission behind that work is a larger one: to end the cycle of child abuse through advocacy, education, and community support. Last year, 938 children told their story to a professional at the Center.

A new space in North Austin
In April 2026, the Center opened its St. Johns Therapy location, a therapy-only facility in North Austin designed to meet clients exactly where they are. Every inch of the space was curated with therapeutic needs in mind, from interactive experiential rooms to family-focused areas.
The team also recognized the importance of caring for the staff who work there. Desks, computers, and furniture were part of giving therapists and administrative staff a workspace built for the demands of their days.
Our donation to the Center for Child Protection
Through our monthly community donation program, UPLIFT Desk provided standing desks for the therapists and staff at the new St. Johns Therapy location. These are professionals who manage emotionally demanding caseloads, often followed by hours of documentation and desk work. Height-adjustable desks give them room to change positions, stretch, and stay comfortable through long days, easing the physical toll that heavy work can leave behind.
"In trauma-informed therapy, we carry a lot of heavy stories, and sitting at a desk all day just adds more tension physically to our bodies. Having standing desks gives my team more of a chance to move around, stretch, and reset. It sounds so simple, but this has been a huge upgrade from our standard desks. Just being able to adjust our postures and move around helps us stay regulated and focused while documenting and responding to emails."

Helping our community
Standing behind the Center for Child Protection means standing behind the people who show up for Austin's most vulnerable children. The work is heavy, and it does not pause. When the therapists and staff carrying it have workspaces built for comfort and movement, they can bring more of themselves to the families who need them.
Our donation program exists for exactly this reason. When local organizations doing essential work have the right tools, their impact reaches further into the community around them.
Looking forward
We are proud to support the Center for Child Protection and the opening of their St. Johns Therapy location. The children and families who walk through those doors are met with care, and now the people providing that care have workspaces made with them in mind too.
We are honored to play a small part in the Center's mission, and we look forward to seeing the difference this new space makes for the years ahead.
