Creating Space for Every Student: Our Donation to Rosedale School
In the heart of Austin, there's a school that opens its doors with one simple, powerful message: "Your child is welcome here." For families whose children have disabilities, Rosedale School within Austin ISD isn't just an educational institution—it's a place where students are given the power of choice.
Who Rosedale serves
Rosedale School serves students with disabilities, including children with complex medical needs and those who benefit from additional behavioral support. Every day, Rosedale's experienced educators work with students who face unique challenges, creating a family-focused community where every child can thrive.
What makes Rosedale a vital community asset goes beyond their specialized curriculum. This is a school where all students can experience any high school rite of passage such as finding the right outfit for an eagerly anticipated annual prom. Also, students who are 18-21 years old can join the GO Project—a community-based transition program preparing them for college or work environments. Through their TLC (Transition to Life in Community) program, Rosedale prepares students for meaningful lives beyond graduation.

Why environment matters
When students struggle with their physical environment, it becomes harder to focus on learning. For students with disabilities, a desk that can't adjust to accommodate a wheelchair isn't just inconvenient—it creates unnecessary barriers. A workspace that doesn't adapt to a student's physical needs can become a source of frustration rather than a foundation for learning.
Every student deserves a learning environment that supports their success. When furniture adapts to individual needs rather than forcing students to adapt to rigid systems, it creates space for learning to flourish.
Our donation to Rosedale
When we learned about Rosedale School's mission and the incredible work happening there every day, we knew we wanted to get involved. Through our monthly community donation program, we provided seven height-adjustable desks and ergonomic accessories to support both Rosedale's dedicated teachers and their students. The donation included five desks for classroom use and two educator workstations—each with a whiteboard desktop designed for both focused work and quick notes (or maybe even a few doodles).
How our desks make a difference
Adjustability changes everything. When a student using a wheelchair can easily reach the controls to find their perfect learning position, that smooth height adjustment represents more than comfort—it's independence in action. For students with complex medical needs, the ability to adjust positioning throughout the day provides crucial support for proper posture and overall wellbeing.
Movement matters too. Students who benefit from the choice to sit or stand gain control over their physical environment, helping them self-regulate and stay engaged with their learning. Meanwhile, the teachers doing this physically and emotionally demanding work have ergonomic workstations that support their wellbeing, enabling them to continue their vital mission.
The whiteboard desktop surfaces transform each workspace into a creative canvas where students can practice writing, solve problems, and express ideas directly on their desk. It's interactive learning that adapts to each student's unique needs.
Helping our community
Our contribution reflects a powerful aspect of the Austin spirit—local businesses uplifting organizations dedicated to making a meaningful impact in our community. By supporting some of our community's most vulnerable students, Rosedale School has become a place where families know their children will be valued and empowered to thrive. When we support Rosedale, we're investing in the belief that every child deserves quality education, dignity, and the chance to reach their full potential.
The adjustability of our standing desks means the workspace adapts to student needs, not the other way around. In a world that often asks people with disabilities to accommodate inflexible systems, Rosedale and UPLIFT Desk are committed to creating environments that are flexible, adaptable, and inclusive.
Looking forward
We're proud that our desks will continue supporting the growth and achievement of Rosedale students and staff for years to come. Whether it's a student adjusting their desk to find the perfect learning position, a teacher working more comfortably, or the whiteboard surface becoming a canvas for creativity—these moments represent the impact we're proud to support.
This partnership with Rosedale School represents more than a furniture donation. It's an investment in educational accessibility, student empowerment, and the belief that every child—regardless of their challenges—deserves a learning environment that helps them grow.
We can't wait to see what the incredible students and staff at Rosedale will accomplish.
