Heirloom antique desks. Mandatory desk uniformity. Chronic lack of electrical outlets. There are lots of bad excuses not to take your workspace to the next literal level, but those are just a few examples of genuine barriers to shifting to a sit-stand station. And sadly, if you're unable to switch to our UPLIFT desks, it might feel like grabbing a phone book or three to stack is your only recourse.
Fortunately for you, the UPLIFT Height Adjustable Standing Desk Converter can fit easily into your current workspace and afford you the same ergonomic flexibility of getting to alternate sitting and standing through your day. Easy controls, a comfortably large work surface, and attached keyboard tray make this desk riser a perfect choice for your existing setup.
|Weight capacity||28.6 lbs|
|Keyboard tray dimensions||27" W x 10.25" D|
|Upper worksurface dimensions||23.6" W x 15.75" D|
|Freestanding mount dimensions||19.7" W x 23.6" D|
|Clamp mount dimensions||6.3" W x 18.3" D|
|Mount||Freestanding or clamp|
|Clamp mount compatibility||Fits desktops 19" to 31.5" deep|
|Freestanding mount compatibility||Fits desktops 23.5" and up deep|
Both mounts are very stable and whichever one you choose to use depends on the parameters of your current desktop setup. We recommend using the clamp mount because it does allow you to bring the keyboard tray below the level of your desktop. So in that sense, the clamp mount is more stable. But if you go with the freestanding mount, your Adapt will be very stable as long as you keep your keyboard tray above the horizontal plane of the desktop.
Almost! Just attach the keyboard tray to your Adapt Desktop Converter and you will be standing in no time!
No, the Desktop Converter does not support monitor arms. If you would like a desktop converter that will allow a monitor arm to be attached check out the UPLIFT Desk Adapt X.
No, the Riser just sits on top of your desktop. This makes setup a breeze and also allows you to easily move the Adapt.
When the Riser is lowered the keyboard tray will sit at desktop level. When the Clamp is lowered the keyboard tray will hang 3.2" below the horizontal plane of the desk.
Yes, the keyboard tray palm rest can be removed using an Allen wrench.
Both desktop converters are pneumatic, but the Riser or Clamp move in a swinging motion compared to the up-down motion of the Adapt X. The clamp mount on the Clamp also has a smaller footprint than the Adapt X.
If you want your keyboard tray to go lower than the level of your desk, then you must order the clamp mount.
If your desktop is shallower than 23.5" then you must use the Clamp. Otherwise you will not have room on your desktop to support the freestanding base.
The keyboard tray will not adjust separately from the Riser. It will only move up and down at a fixed position in combination with your desktop converter. We recommend going with the Clamp because it will allow your keyboard tray to rest lower than the surface of your desktop when the converter is at its lowest position. This will offer you a better ergonomic setup while you are seated at your desk.
Once you move your converter to the desired height, just release the paddle and your desktop converter will lock in place.
There is a tension control adjustment on the back of the unit. To adjust the tension to the weight of your desktop items, turn the large Allen wrench clockwise or counterclockwise.
As long as your monitor and everything else you place on your desktop weighs no more than 28.6 lbs, the converter will be able to safely do its job.

I had been considering an UpLift Desk for a long while, but just couldn't budget it. Then I got an email for UpLift Desk Adapt. After watching the video, I was sold. It came within a couple of days in a 60 pound well protected box. Installing it was a snap. I got the clamp option because I wanted my keyboard below desk level for sitting. It felt weird standing at first, but I adjusted quickly. I also found that my typing was better standing up because my palms were no longer resting on the wrist rest. I positioned the UpLift so that my hands are in the waterfall position. It was amazing just how comfortable it is and how much less strain it is to type. My accuracy naturally went up.
My neck thanks you. My back thanks you. My wallet thanks you. Perfect design that can make any desk adaptable to any working position. Ordered the UpLift Motion Stool today so I can perch! :D

After becoming a full-time telecommuter it was not unusual to spend 2-3 hours sitting behind my computer. Even though I set an alarm to get up every hour, it wasn't working quite right and my back really ached at the end of the day. I wanted to try a standing desk but already had one in my home office and didn't have much space left for more furniture. After reading the reviews and watching the video, this product looked like the perfect solution. Assembly was easy and no extra tools were required. I am now happily working and standing without fatigue, improving my posture with proper ergonomic form, and didn't have to spend a tremendous amount of money. I am recommending this to all of my colleagues as well.

This addition to my desk makes it easy to stand and work for most of my day, yet allows me the flexibility to sit for a meeting or when I feel like it. It is very comfortable and I have no problems with my wrist as I use the mouse. Height adjustment is quick and easy if another employee needs to step in and use my computer. I am very happy with the uplift desk! Thank You

I have the freestand desk, and have been using it for about a month now. I find that I'm standing most of my day. It's very comfortable and sturdy. However, it does shake a little bit when my wrists are heavy while typing, or if I'm typing hard. But it's definitely not a big deal - and would still highly recommend this desk. The platform for the monitor has enough room for my phone and papers. So everything I need is at the lifted height. Very nice product.

I have been happy with the uplift desk I purchased. I bought the clamp version and as expected this unit feels very sturdy to work on. The unit is not difficult to put together and is made of what feels like quality components. I use the keyboard tray for my mouse pad which has been fine for me. I bought my unit due to excessive discomfort in sitting long periods of time. I've also been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Standing has noticeably improved my condition.

This desk does everything it says it does. It is a fantastic lower-cost alternative to an electric desk (important since I bought this for myself at work). It was easy to assemble at set up. I was up and running in 30 minutes. The only thing I would improve upon is making the keyboard tray adjustable. That would make this a six star product. Great job Uplift team!

I ordered my new desk over the phone through a Human Solutions sales rep. She was very helpful and within 3 days I received my desk. It took about 40 minutes to assemble because the inset nuts are not exactly aligned properly. However, with a little patience and some force I was able to get the assembling screws threaded without too much problem. At work I find myself standing & sitting throughout the day and this is a nice piece of equipment. The adjustment knob allows for a light touch to raise or lower the desk. The price is very affordable. The finish and quality seems like they should last for quite a few years. I highly recommend this for anyone that does a lot of administrative type work.

I have an injury from a car accident a few months ago and my doctor suggested I get a standing desk to take some of the strain off of my neck and back. Replacing my whole desk setup was kind of out of my budget after medical bulls so I thought I would try this. Assembly was pretty straightforward. Once I got it set up it worked like a charm. The keyboard platform can position a little lower than my desk which is actually a pretty nice feeling. When I need to stand up, I just push the switch on the side and lift. My back's happy, I'm happy, and best of all my wallet is happy!

I have a small desk in my cubicle at work. The desk surface is attached to the wall, and my company would not allow me to remove it and get a sit-stand desk. The other converter units I've looked at were too big for my desk, or had only a clamp mount, which I can't use. My neck and back have been killing me for ages, and I was starting to really dread coming to work and settling in for long hours of pain. This converter unit has changed everything. I don't need a clamp or grommet mount. I just put this right on top of my desk and I was in business. It's really easy to raise and lower, the surface is large enough for my monitor and assorted peripherals like phone and notepads, and the keyboard platform is the perfect size for my keyboard and ergonomic mouse. With such a low price, I wasn't sure what to expect, but this product delivered on all counts. I feel so much better already! Pros: Easy set up, great price, feel SO MUCH better at work.

I have a vintage wooden office desk that has served me well, but I have been interested in a sit-stand desk for a while now after they put in some standing desks at work. Unfortunately, I can't attach a height-adjustable frame to my desk without altering it completely, so this seemed like a great solution for me. I got the clamp-on version because I wanted the keyboard to be a bit lower than the desktop and it works out perfectly for me. I am about 6 feet tall and was afraid that it wouldn't go up quite high enough, but the height range is perfect. This desk converter let me keep my desk, but made it 100x more comfortable to work at!
