We offer more types of desktops than any of our competitors. From tried-and-true laminate to scratch-resistant Eco wood to sustainable bamboo to reclaimed wood, no one else takes the care to responsibly source the highest-quality materials for desktops.
We avoid using harsh agents and chemicals in finishing our desktops, protecting not only your desk but your indoor air quality as well.
Working within your Neutral Reach Zone is crucial to your health. Since this is different for everyone, finding that ergonomic sweet spot can be difficult at offices or multi-use workstations with people of different heights.
Many height-adjustable desks have only a two-stage frame, which means they're limited in their height adjustability. You could end up spending thousands of dollars and still not have an ergonomic setup. But the UPLIFT three-stage frame lifts higher and descends lower, which means it'll work more comfortably for more people.
Have power for all your devices close at hand with optional power grommets. Designed to integrate seamlessly into your new sit-stand solution, you can make sure you're all charged up for when you have to be away from your standing desk.
The UPLIFT Advanced Keypad not only displays the current height of your height adjustable desk in inches, but also is capable of storing up to four user-defined heights in memory, perfect for shared workstations.

Available in our Classic laminate, Eco and bamboo lines, this shallower desktop has a smaller footprint for restricted spaces. This depth keeps everything on your desktop within easy reach.
All of our desktops are available in this depth. In addition, Eco and bamboo desktops in this depth are available with an ergonomic Curve center-cut, which allows you to get closer to the center of your desk.
We offer many width options for your new desk as well. Different widths are ideal for different applications. For example, if you wish to have a treadmill at your desk, get a top that's at least 72" wide, so you can have a chair next to it for when you're not walking.
Of course, the demands of your space may dictate the width of your desktop. If you need assistance with figuring out the right size for your purposes, or would like a custom size quoted, feel free to contact us.
Your keyboard and mouse should be located in this zone, reachable with your upper arms at rest alongside your body. Naturally, keep other items you need close at hand and use often in this area, like your smartphone.
This zone is the area that you can reach with your arms at full extension while still seated. Devices that aren't used as often, like an office phone or task light should be placed in this zone.
This area can only be reached by leaning over the desk itself or getting out of the chair or both. Things that aren't used very often, like books, monitor stands, external hard drives and decor should be placed in this zone.
We use sustainably-farmed bamboo in the construction of one of our most popular tops, the one inch thick bamboo. Dense and strong, this desktop is also available with an ergonomic Curve.
UPLIFT Desk frames come in whatever color you like, as long as that color is black, gray or white.
Our patented foot is made of 100 percent aluminum for unmatched strength and durability. Aluminum is lightweight and fully recyclable, a perfect complement to environmentally-conscious desktops like the Eco series of 100 percent recycled wood desktops.

The cable management tray attaches easily to the underside of the desk with included hardware. The wire funnel makes cable insertion and removal quick and effortless and 10 re-adjustable, self-adhesive cable ties are included.
For additional power, add the clamp-on surge protector with USB ports, which can be mounted directly to the edge of the desk, or to the frame.
This surge protector is in addition to the one that comes with the advanced wire management kit.

I've been using my desk for about 3 weeks so far, and it's great! It's so nice to be able to stand up when I'm sore from sitting, and sit down when I'm sore from standing. It makes a work day much more enjoyable!
The setup is pretty straightforward, but having some power tools and an extra pair of hands will definitely make the process quicker and easier!
I've run into a couple problems so far, but nothing major.
First, the bamboo top came with a couple dings and one rough-looking corner. However, I was more excited to start using the desk than I was bothered about the slight cosmetic damage, so I decided not to contact customer service about replacing it.
Second, the advanced keypad occasionally doesn't work right. It seems to not remember my saved height settings and will move the desk to some random height, or all the way down. However, if I press the button for the desired height again, it usually corrects itself.
So I've had a couple issues, but they aren't a huge deal to me, and I would definitely buy the desk again. It's great for the price, and I highly recommend it!

Uplift desk is fantastic. Had a minor problem with a couple defective screws, service was responsive in sending me new ones right away. Uplift is great all around product and service.

I am very happy with my Uplift desk - the bamboo top with ergo cutout is very nice when paired with an under-desk keyboard and mouse drawer.
Assembly was straightforward but needed good quality tools and some hand strength. The assembled desk is very stable and looks great. Now if I could just get my kids to stop playing with the buttons... ;-)

So worth it! Screams quality and it was surprisingly easy to assemble, everything fits and works just fine. Highly recommended!
easy to assemble
Cons: Nothing that I can think of

After owning my Bamboo desk now for 4 months, I'm still enjoying it. The only misleading thing about purchasing it was that it seemed like you had to purchase the locking wheel casters. I love them on my wood floor, but the desk does come with stationary feet. So if you plan to sit the desk on carpet there really isn't a necessary purchase.
Things to keep in mind
Lift control - The lift adjustment control can go on either the left or the right side.
Examine everything before you assemble. Delivery guys dinged a couple of my boxes, but nothing was damaged.
I also plan to keep the desk LEGS box since it really the only thing that may break on this desk that would be hard to return. The legs contain the actual motors that lift the desk up and down.
Pros: Table top - It's nice looking solid piece of wood and seems to be pretty durable.
Power strip - Get the power strip (see picture barely shows behind the white cup on the desk) that attaches to the back of the desk, it's really nice and allowed me to have one plug that goes to the floor that plugs into my UPS.
Cable organizer - really nice. It attaches with screws and adhesive. I've loaded mine up with cables and it's holding nicely to the bottom.
UPLIFT Grommet Hole - I find left and right holes helpful for running cables (see picture white cable for phone power on left and my laptop cables on right)
Cons: Cable ties - The cable ties with adhesive back that come with the desk don't stick to the bamboo very well. Most of mine have come undone and I've replaced them with Velcro straps that I've run under the metal support beams that run the length of the desk. I had one drop to the floor and it was pretty hard to pull it off, so that's why I think it's the bamboo surface.
Monitor Arms - I do not recommend Human Solutions monitor arms. They work, but they are too stiff when trying to adjust the monitor height.

I researched sit and stand desks for several months before purchasing two 72" desks with the bamboo tops. The Uplift desk is very well made and have had them now for about two months and have had no problems with them. The main reason I purchased from The Human Solution company is their great customer service and I hope they never lose that. They were never pushy, answered all my questions, and were helpful with the purchase. My wife and I both needed these because of the amount of sitting we were doing because of the nature of our business. It made a difference in our posture and our health.
There were other companies but free shipping and a seven year warranty with the great customer service made the difference for us and we haven't been disappointed! We were not paid to post a review nor offered anything in return for posting a review here. I wanted to post pictures of our setup but that is still in the works of getting the office arranged and all the cables and wires tied up neatly. I hope to come back here and get those posted so that you can see in fact that I do have two 72" desks with bamboo tops.
I will say that I did have one problem with a caster but The Human Solution was quick to get me a replacement and problem resolved!
Pros: They have great customer service and if you have a problem, they will help get resolved. They have been great to work with my entire purchase and after purchase.
Cons: I wished I had purchased sooner but I had to do the research to know what worked best for my wife and I.

I just bought a The Human Solution UPLIFT Stand-Up Desk with black metal supports and bamboo desktop. I've got to tell you not only does
it look even better than I had imagined (and I had very high hopes) but the functionality was more than I could imagine (since I had never even seen
a Stand-Up desk much less used one). For me the size of the desk is just perfect (48" wide by 24" deep : not too big, but then again, not too small. And its very stable. I use my desk with a swedish
balans chair and that, in combination with the UPLIFT foam cushion mat I purchased, means I am extremely relaxed and ergonomically "adjusted" whether standing or sitting. I also purchased the
small semi-circular drawer that fastens beneath the desk top and swivels open ; it's the perfect size for my mechanical pencils, paper clips, and erasers. I can't say enough
for the Human Solution product (s) I purchased.
I also paid for desk assembly and room set up. It was all very efficient, white glove, and the fellow (Toni) who did
the work was a pleasure to talk to and work with. I'm excited: since delivery and set up I have gotten more work done in a week than I have for a long time.
I had looked at desks from one of Human Solutions competitors available in one of the local high-end furniture stores. They were OK, I suppose its hard to tell
without actually working on one) but didn't look as good and the mechanisms for raising and lowering these other desks didn't seem as quiet, or efficient, or as easy to access. And for some reason wooden tops were not yet available from the local merchandisers (what's up with that). But more importantly these other desks were at least $700 more expensive than the desk I purchased from The Human Solution. I can't possibly imagine how any of them could be $700 better than the product i purchased; that extra money only goes to pay for brick and mortar and a couple of middlemen I reckon. I'm all for buying local, believe me, but not $700 worth of local.
And buying locally I would have had to spend another $75 for delivery (even though I only live three miles down the road). Shipping from The Human Solution (in Austin, Texas) to my home in
Madison, Wisconsin was free.
Merry Christmas to me!
My sister and brother and law took one look at my new desk and immediately made plans to inquire about The Human Solution smaller version of my desk (they live in a one bedroom condo); they deem The Human Solution desk to be perfect for their needs.
Finally, the salesman at The Human Solution in Austin, Ryan, was one friendliest and helpful persons I have ever worked with over the phone. He helped make my whole purchasing
and researching experience a breath of fresh air. Truly.
If you are thinking about a Stand-Up desk I say GO FOR IT. Call Ryan.
Pros: see above
Cons: I should have bought it sooner!

I love this desktop but it is expensive. I'd go with their 1 inch thick bamboo if I did it again because the extra 1/2" thickness is really nice and it lets you see more of the wonderful edge bamboo pattern but the 1 inch thick is also really thick for a bamboo desk so you get a better value there. I wanted the best available and paid for it.
Cons: Cost was high compared to the 1 inch thick top. They explained to me that they buy the 1 inch thick tops in huge volumes and pass the savings onto the customer. The 1.5" bamboo is a much lower volume product for them.

I researched standing desks for at least 2 months, leading up to my carpal tunnel surgery. I knew I needed to change the way I work ergonomically, and thus the search for a new desk began. After reading the health benefits of standing desks, the decision was made; but there are so many choices! I considered all the major players, read all the online reviews I could find, and ultimately narrowed it down to three: NextDesk Terra, Jarvis, and Uplift.
The first thing I did was make direct contact with customer service at each company to ask several simple questions. I called each one, and emailed each one. I am still awaiting a call back from NextDesk as I write this. Both Uplift and ErgoDepot (Jarvis) answered right away and responded to email proficiently. It became easy to eliminate the Terra from the final list.
The NextDesk Terra is beautiful (as is the Uplift - I ordered with the bamboo top) but at the end of the day, I simply could not bring myself to pay over $1000 more for a similar configuration. It just wasn't prudent. I was able to get a larger top and more options for right at $1000 less! I will also mention my bamboo top from Uplift is an inch thick, while NextDesk's is 3/4 of an inch thick. Also, it offers a 3 year warranty.
The Jarvis appears to be a very nice, if not very similar desk to the Uplift in many ways. The things that are different that helped sway my decision?
* I knew for sure I wanted a bamboo top, and I knew for sure I wanted grommets. You can get a bamboo top with Jarvis, but they will not (currently as of Sept 2015) drill grommet holes. They were helpful in sending a video showing how I could drill the holes into the top myself. But why, when the Uplift includes them? Score one for Uplift.
* Uplift uses standard circular grommet holes. Jarvis uses small rectangular grommets, 2 x 4 inches.. That's not a big difference, but I have an ErgoTech Freedom Arm for my Thunderbolt Display, and when I contacted ErgoTech's customer service to ask if the rectangular grommet would work with the mount, I was told "it might be a little too big." To be fair, I can't say one way or the other if it would have worked, but I personally prefer the look of the standard circular grommet. And I wanted bamboo. See above. Score another for Uplift.
* The Jarvis bamboo top is 3/4 of an inch thick. My Uplift 900 bamboo top is a full inch. Does this matter? I am using both grommets (left and right) with grommet-based monitor mounts and I just feel better with that extra 1/4 of an inch.
I ordered my desk on a Thursday before Labor Day weekend. It shipped the next day, and I had it by Tuesday afternoon. I may have had it Monday, had it not been a holiday. FAST! I recruited my neighbor to help set it up, and an hour later we were both admiring my beautiful new desk. It's "scratch and dent" and I did notice just a couple of minor knicks in the surface. But seriously, it's beautiful. There were only two, and they are tiny. I can live with that for the deal I got!
I can highly recommend this desk. I purchased the 72 x 30 top and it is truly amazing! I have on the left side a 24" Dell U2412M on a Cotytech mount. I have on the right side a 27" Apple Thunderbolt Display on an ErgoTech Freedom Arm. The wire management is fine; Uplift includes plenty of adhesive mounts with cable ties to collect all those cords and cables.
One last thing I feel is important to mention: I was more than a little worried about the 'wobble' I kept reading about when the desk is at standing height, particularly if you use a monitor arm. I do have the desk on hardwood flooring. I am 5'7" and I do not notice ANY wobble, sitting or standing, in the course of a day's work. The only time I have noticed it at all is when I punched harder than I usually do typing on the keyboard. Then I noticed it a little. I'm thankful that I'm not a punch-typist. :)
TL;DR: Buy this desk! It's cost-effective, beautiful, offers just enough customization, ships FAST, and is easy to put together. Did I mention it's BEAUTIFUL?!!!
Pros: Cost-effective (not the cheapest one out there, but for what you get it's amazing!)
Cons: If I had to get nit-picky, I would have appreciated a small furniture pencil to hide the very few blemishes on the topside of the desk. But wait! I already have one from a previous unrelated purchase. I used it, you can't even tell those blemishes ever existed.

So I finally took the plunge and bought a sit/stand desk because of back pain. So worth it - regardless which desk you get, it's so much better for you. The reason I chose this desk was value for money. I looked at a number of competitors but really wanted a wood surface for the aesthetics. I was a little worried about 'scratch and dent' so I called up CS and they told me not to be. As it turns out, the only 'damage' I can see is the varnish coating is a bit thicker / has a visible run on a 3" portion of the side. And that's only noticeable when the light catches it. In terms of putting it together - about 1.5 hours on my own. The only time I needed help was flipping it over when assembled (I am 5'7", 126lbs with back pain!). The panel system was easy to set, the motor pretty quiet and fast enough. Love it. CS were very helpful with placing my order via the phone.
Totally in love with my desk.
