The standard Duron arms are height adjustable and have a foam core with a durable, synthetic leather cover. The armrests are attached to the backrest rather than the seat, so they remain in the same relation to your body when you recline.
Advanced arms offer the same features as the standard arms, and they are width as well as height adjustable.
Both the Duron and the Technogel padding options can be upholstered in fabric or leather to match your chair.
Technogel arms offer a softer and extremely comfortable gel layer beneath the synthetic leather cover.
The padded foam seat on the Humanscale Freedom Chair is contoured to fit your body and reduce pressure points. Users who are up and down more may prefer this option.
The Technogel seat cushion is a non-degradable, non-compressible Technogel layer on top of a foam core. It offers better long-term support and relief of pressure points for users who are seated for longer periods of time.
*Technogel seat is available only with the Wave, Lotus, and Vellum fabrics and is not available with leather, Sensuede, or Promessa.

When researching ergonomic chairs, I read a review in Popular Mechanics that referred to the chair as a second spine. That was hard to imagine, after all, how can a chair connect with your spine and move all around with you? Well, it does! The chair is perfectly contoured to fit and has a counter balance system that adjusts to your weight, no springs, and it actually moves with you. Incredible support and comfort. I would like to see the arms adjust a little higher up but for most tasks they are fine. Plus, I'm tall. The head support automatically moves forward so you can maintaine a forward looking position when you lean back and still have neck support. All part of the second spine description. It works well and is actually very comfortable. The chair had a slight nick in the seat when delivered. Humanscale arranged for a prompt seat replacement. They offered to send a technician to repair it but it was easy to replace. Customer service is excellent and they stand behind their product, both the manufacturer and the seller. Oh yes, build quality. Very high quality. Comfortable, perfect back and spine support and a first class organization. Highly recommended.
